Taranata Group unveiled

Paul Atkinson, who earlier this year acquired the business assets of Edinburgh and Glasgow-based Change Recruitment Group, has revealed plans to create a recruitment ‘supergroup’, headquartered in Scotland.  He will achieve this by bringing his four recruitment businesses together under one group entity, the name of which has today been unveiled as Taranata Group.

Taranata is the Māori word for talent, encompassing what the Group companies do, what they are about, and their international reach.

Atkinson has an ambitious strategy to supersize Taranata Group via organic growth and further acquisition – of as many as four other specialist recruitment brands over the next few years.  His aim is to achieve a £100m business by 2020, with the potential to move towards a market listing in the future.

Taranata Group currently comprises Head Resourcing, Change Recruitment, Head Medical and Atkinson Macleod; employs almost 150 people and turns over around £65m.  Each individual business is a specialist, and will continue to operate with autonomy in their own space, both at home and internationally.

Atkinson commented:

Creation of Taranata Group is the next big leap forward to achieve the grand vision of a recruitment supergroup, delivering innovative talent acquisition with a clear focus on customer service.

The acquisition of the assets of Change Recruitment and the outstanding success that business has achieved over the last six months, underpinned by the phenomenal performance of our existing businesses, has spurred us on to articulate the broader ambition for the Group and seek further acquisitions to help realise our goals.

We already have some of the best players in the recruitment space, and we will hand-pick more to join us as we move forward, always ensuring that our values of shared ambition, dynamic operation, honesty and passion hold strong – and are shared by future partners.
